Teachers, parents, and practitioners can read extensively about Precision Teaching, yet be crippled with executing the practice and unaware of the best practices that makes for exemplary performance.  Further, even interactive webclasses lack the feedback and question/answer component to provide an adequate shaping environment.  As such, Precision Teaching Learning Center (Precision TLC) is looking to create its first live, web-based practitioner course to help train new precision teachers and polish experienced ones.  This class is structured to help launch a Precision Teaching case or advance a current case for a learner of any age/level.  Students will receive specific lessons on pinpointing, curriculum generation, progress monitoring, and interventions.  Students will be required to present to their classmates on a specific case with respect to learner’s profile, curriculum, and data.  It is assumed that students are familiar with charting and basic knowledge about Precision Teaching.  If not, supplemental webclasses will be provided for them to help fill in the missing elements.  Behavior goals include but are not limited to: 1) reading a logarithmic graph, 2) calculating celerations, 3) measuring behavior growth/decay using a logarithmic graph, 4) generating fluency curriculum, 5) evaluating mastery levels of performance, 6) creating operational definitions using PT practices (pinpointing), 7) critiquing curriculum to ensure maximum learning opportunities and measuring what is intended to measure, 8) critically analyzing interventions that are suitable to the learner and the behavior/environment and 9) list situations in how you can transform a discrete-trail program into a fluency-based program.
